Acquiring an original

Every work exists
exactly once.

Each artwork begins with Caran d'Ache Luminance coloured pencils on archival Bristol board and is developed slowly, layer by layer, over many weeks. Depending on the complexity of the subject, a single piece can require anywhere from forty to over one hundred hours of work. I create only a small number of works each year.

One of the most difficult parts of being an artist is letting a piece leave the studio. By the time a drawing is complete, I have often spent months with it, studying every detail and living with it as part of my daily routine. For that reason, it is important to me that each piece finds a home with someone who genuinely connects with the work and will enjoy it for years to come.

Each original is one of a kind: a single sheet of Bristol board, worked in Caran d'Ache Luminance coloured pencil across forty to over one hundred hours. I make a small number of works each year, with no shortcuts and no assistance.

Acquiring an original means holding something that exists nowhere else. When a drawing leaves the studio, there is no second copy hanging anywhere else. What you have is the only one.

Provenance documentation is provided with every acquisition. Each piece is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity, details of materials and process, and photographic records from the studio.

Price on application. Prices are shared on enquiry, never listed. Each is handled personally, and a conversation about the work comes before anything else. If a particular piece speaks to you, reach out below.

White-glove shipping worldwide, fully insured and museum-grade packed. Works on paper require specific handling, and every shipment is treated accordingly.

Every acquisition leaves the studio with its signed certificate of authenticity, material details, and photographic records, and is recorded in the studio archive.

I take on a small number of commissions each year. I am particularly interested in book covers, narrative illustration, fantasy artwork, and selected portrait commissions.
