Created from a reference photograph taken by wildlife photographer Roxy Hemadani during a trip to Spain, this piece marked the beginning of a paired series focused on wild cats.

What attracted me most to the lynx was its character. The alert gaze, distinctive ear tufts, and textured coat offered an opportunity to explore detail while still maintaining a sense of presence and personality. Much of the drawing was spent building layers of fur, allowing subtle variations in colour and texture to emerge gradually.
